Other options available to patients are e-Consult - see link below and also LIVI is a service which is free to our patients - 

See a GP by video with LIVI. Even at the weekend.

Patients of Silverdale Practice can see an NHS GP by video using LIVI. Get medical advice, prescriptions and referrals on the same day – even at weekends. The service is provided free on the NHS.

Important Information - COVID-19

The safety of our patients and staff is paramount to the Silverdale Practice. We are trying to reduce the non-essential reasons for anyone physically visiting either site. All clinically essential work will continue but we will be calling in advance to confirm that patient's have not got a fever or cough.

Advice and Questions

If you need non urgent advice or have a question please use the e-consult function above as it will help us deal with your question more effectively or call 01444 233450 after 2pm when we are quieter.

Prescriptions

We are asking patients to make sure they have a nominated pharmacy so there is no need for them to visit the surgery. Ordering new prescriptions can be one online or via email repeats.silverdaleavenue@nhs.net Please note we do not take prescription requests over the phone. 


GP Appointments:

All new GP appointments will initially be booked as a telephone appointment. Some GPs will be trialing video consultations. If a GP feels that a patient needs to be seen in person for a physical examination then a time will be arranged for them to come in.

If there is any doubt that a patient may have an infection of any sort and needs to be seen at our practice then we have a specific clinic at our quietest time where the GP will be wearing protective equipment. Additional cleaning will take place to ensure the highest infection control procedures are followed.

Any non-urgent procedures such as minor operations and cryo-therapy that are carried out by GPs are likely to be postponed and we are contacting patients. 

Nurse Appointments: Where nurse appointments can take place via a telephone conversation then the patient will be contacted to confirm. All clinically essential work will continue but we will be calling in advance to confirm that patient's have not got  fever or cough. Any non-urgent procedures such as ear irrigation and blood pressure checks that are carried out by nurses are likely to be postponed and we are contacting patients.

Please bear with us as the current situation is putting the practice under additional clinical and administrative pressure.  

The practice has been providing medical care to patients in Burgess Hill for over 60 years. The practice works from two main sites within the town.
